A: No. For interior shades Somfy Battery Motors offer simple rechargeable systems. Battery motors provide a great solution for retrofit applications, and can be used in new construction where wiring would be difficult.
Q: How long will a Somfy battery motor charge last in my interior shades?
A: With average use of once up and once down per day, a full charge will last between 9 months and one year.
Q: Is solar charging an option for Somfy battery motors?
A: Yes, with our optional Solar Charging Kit, interior shades can be charged via a small solar panel. For outdoor shades, opt for Oasis solar-powered shades with a solar panel.
Q: What are the best motorized shades for a new-construction home?

Q: Which Somfy motors are compatible with voice control assistants?
A: All Somfy motors are compatible with hands-free voice control assistants with the addition of the optional Somfy Switch gateway and TaHoma app.

Q: Can my existing Somfy shades be motorized?
A: Unfortunately, existing shades with manual operators cannot be motorized.
Q: What kind of warranty does Somfy offer on shade motors?
A: Somfy warrants its motors and controls to be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal and proper use for a period of 5 years commencing with the date stamped on each product. If the Somfy product fails within this 5 year period, we will repair or replace it free of charge through your end product supplier.
