Locate the battery wand, which is typically attached to the back of the head rail or mounted discreetly nearby. Carefully remove the battery wand by sliding it out of its clip or releasing it from its bracket depending on your model. Be sure to disconnect the power cord.
For Hunter Douglas shades, hold the wand horizontal to not drop the batteries. Open the battery wand by squeezing and pulling the tab. Remove the old batteries and dispose of them properly. Insert 12 fresh AA alkaline batteries, ensuring the positive and negative ends align with the indicated markings. Close the battery wand securely by replacing the cap.
For Insolroll shades, hold the wand horizontal to not drop the batteries. Open the battery wand by unscrewing the end. Remove the old batteries. Insert eight AA batteries, ensuring the positive and negative ends align. Close the battery wand securely by replacing the cap.
Once the batteries are replaced, reattach the battery wand to its clip or bracket. Then re-plug in the power cord. Test your shade to ensure it operates correctly.
