Selecting the Right Fabric
Your 3-step process for choosing the right fabric!
See Insolroll Interior Fabrics or Insolroll Exterior Fabrics.
Step 1. Choose your Fabric Type

Blackout Fabric
- Blocks all light coming through fabric (does not include light gaps)
- Provides daytime and nighttime privacy
Translucent Fabric
- Allows light flow into the space- no view out
- Provides daytime and nighttime privacy (shadows may be seen at night)
Solar Screen Fabric
- Maintains view and open feeling to the outside, while reducing heat and glare
- Provides daytime privacy only

Step 2: Choose your Fabric Color
Light-colored fabrics
Light-colored fabrics provide more heat reduction. Light-colored solar screen fabrics will reduce heat AND diffuse interior light.
Dark-colored fabrics
Dark-colored solar screen fabrics provide more glare reduction and better view-through. Dark-colored translucent fabrics reduce light entering the room.
Step 3: Choose your Solar Screen Fabric Density
If choosing a Solar Screen fabric, you will need to choose a density.
3% fabric (more dense)

Fabrics with 3% openness block 97% of UV and harmful rays.
5% fabric (more open)
Fabrics with 5% openness block 95% of UV and harmful rays.
